The DPI expects to receive approximately $102.3 million under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B and Preschool Grants Programs to provide special education and related services to children with disabilities. Part B provides funds for children ages 3-21, and the Preschool Grant Program provides funds for children ages 3-5. Funds may only be used for special education. Since summer school programs are not special education, funds may not be used for summer school programs. See Information Update Bulletin No. 96.01, Question #22.
